The Lilly Library – Indiana University
The Lilly Library is Indiana University’s rare book and special collection library. It’s located very near the heart of campus in a separate building from the main branch, the Herman B Wells Library.
The collections hold more than 400,000 books, 100,000 sheets of music, 7.5 million manuscripts, and over 30,000 puzzles. Notable collections are the Jerry Slocum collection of mechanical puzzles, the Michael E. Uslan collection of graphic novels and comic books, J.K. Lilly’s varied and extensive collections covering many subjects, and the Ruth E. Adomeit Collection of Miniature Books. A copy of the Gutenberg Bible and a double-elephant folio of the first edition of Audubon’s Birds of America are permanently on display.
